I featured a trio of color pairings that I happen to like earlier this week, but now…… it’s time for my frockin’ fave color combo…. NUDIE + NAVY.  I like things simple, clean, and modern, and these two colors are the definition of that.  Ok Frock Stars, here’s a collection which happens to include, my two favorite colors navy and nude.

Pump Up That Dress Girl:Fierce.  A navy dress with a lace overlay is major.  This one emphasizes your waist and the nude pump elongates your legs.  I love a plain shirtdress.  This nude dress is PERFECTION, it is so simple that you can go cray with accessories and shoes.  A navy bootie looks edgy paired with a classic silhouette.

*Navy Dress – Forever 21, Scalloped Lace Dress $16.90, Nude Pump – Target, Versie Pumps $29.99, Nude Dress – The Row, Rexton Wool Blend Dress $1,125 (I can dream right…. I guess that’s the price you pay for perfection), Navy Bootie – Target, Journee Collection Peep Toe Platform Heel Bootie, $39.99*

Put Your Face In Its Place:

This is kind of like wearing natural makeup… with a kick.  Nude shadows look great on every skin color, while navy eyeliner brightens the whites of your eyes…… it’s like the best tag team ever.

Splurge:

Urban Decay, Naked Palette – This mix of shadows is the best…. ever.  Sometimes being gorge can be expensive… $50

Laura Mercier, Tightline Cake Eyeliner (in deep navy blue) – What big eyes you have hunty….. the better to frock you with my dear…. $22

Steal:

Maybelline Expert Wear, Almond Satin – As many of you frockers learned before, you can frock yourself at the drugstore and still look amaze.  This eye shadow palette will last up to two months…. the colors enhance natural beauty… and it’s only $5.50

E.L.F, Cream Eyeliner in Midnight – This eyeliner is $3 at Target, and it includes a brush. It glides right on, and is easy to smudge for a fierce smokey eye.

Posh Polish + Chic Clutches:

A navy polish with a nude clutch is totes fetch for a daytime outing.  A structured envelope clutch is not fussy, making it the perfect professional clutch.  The navy polish shows that you are stylish, yet today it is considered a neutral.

Nail Polish, OPI in Road House Blues $8

Clutch, ASOS Metal Frame Clutch, $31.66

….. Flip it and reverse it

Nudie nail polish can tone down a dressy clutch.  It can also go from day to night, and leaves you the option to pile on accessories.  This one is in the shade Sand Tropez by Essie for $8.  A navy clutch is still cocktail appropriate, yet a shade different from everyone’s usual blacks.  Ruffle detailing and some bling can fancy up a simple frock.  This bag is by Magid, for $20.79….. chic and cheap!

Set A Good Tone In Your Home:

A light navy adds interest to a basic nude.  Navy dishware looks lux against basic furnishings.  Solid colored dishware also appears very contemporary, yet it like paints your table chic.  This table can adjust to fit a small space or a large one, while giving off a cozy vibe.  You can get both of these items at Target.  The dishware is by Rachel Ray, in the shade Blue Raspberry, for $69.99, the table is from the Hannah Dining Collection for $143.99 (nice price for a kitch table)!
A futon is great for an apartment, spare room, or anyone living alone.  A nudie couch matches with everything (this amazing find is by Acme for $226.97).  Add a modern pop of color with navy throw pillows (from Target for $20), and you’re ready to host a party.

Frock A Power Top….. Or A Power Bottom

Are you a power top, or a power bottom?  I am both.  I LOVE a printed anything, a black pattern on a nude sweater is interesting and stylish…. thus making it a power top.  Pair it with a basic dark wash jean.  If the sweater is slouchy you can go for a skinny jean, and if the top is fitted, you can opt for a high waisted flare.  If you are more of a power bottom, than you want to draw attention to your bottom half.  A pleated high-low skirt is different (so others will notice it), with a basic blouse.  You could also go for a simple tee shirt tucked into a chunky sweater skirt…. the possibilities are endless.

*Printed Sweater, Forever 21 – Ditsy Fox Sweater $19.90, Dark Denim, Gap – 1969 Always Skinny Jeans $69.95, Blouse, Target – Merona $19.99, High- Low Skirt, Forever 21 – Accordion Pleated High- Low Skirt $15.80

I think that you are able to put five different spins on just about anything.  I am also always up for a challenge, so leave a comment below or send an email to info@rockinaroundthefrock.com, with your suggestions for next week.

Thanks for stopping by Frock Stars…. now go frock yourself…… in nakeds and blues!
