Bonjour Frock Stars. I’ve been craving color like whoa, I want Spring. I’m ready to incorporate the colors of Spring 2013 into my wardrobe, and I want to show you how. It’s easy + possible to wear brights and bolds in the middle of winter, you just have to look for the right pieces. I know when I wear a splash of color, I feel good… so here are this Spring’s colors, five different ways.
Win A Daytime Emmy:
Just because you have errands to run, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t look fabulous. Poppy-right your look.
Miss Selfridge, Glitter Top $50 – The next best thing to being naked under your trench is a nudie peplum. Peplums aren’t going anywhere anytime soon, so rock them while they’re still hot. A peplum serves up daytime chic, it’s a superb way to not look like a slob while running around all day.
Yumi, Side Button Coat $48 – J’adore. This coat is sickening. The classic shape is made fierce by the bold hue. The bow on the left shoulder is adorbs. This would look great over any ensemble.
H&M, Low Rise Jeans $16 – You can never go wrong with a pair of skinnies. Skinny jeans show of your bod, and they werq during the day… and night. A dark rinse is the most versatile, and the most flattering.
NewLook.com, Nude Platform Heels $40 – Another fabulous wardrobe staple. Nude pumps elongate your legs, making them look lean. Platforms are easy to walk in, perfect for running around (kind of). Nudie heels are a must have when the temps rise, they make your legs look stunning (especially if you haven’t been werqing out).
Kris-Ana, Blue bag $44- I get down with a structured bag. This bag is large enough to fit everything you need in it. The blue shade can take you from season to season.
Pier 1, Blue Bead Necklace $8 – Why not add a little pizzazz to your outfit, it makes it look like you spent time getting ready… and it makes everyone think you’re fabulous.
Miso, Nude Jewelry $4.81 – Touches of nude tie this outfit together, making it look cohesive. Earrings are also an inexpensive way to change things up. You could wear this pair during the day with your hair in a pony, and then swap the jeans for a pencil skirt and take your hair down at night… the earrings werq both ways.
Don’t Be Tardy For The Party:
Be the life of the party in bold greens and seductive nudes. Make everyone green with envy
Jane Norman, Party Dress $67 – Major. I’m in love with this dress, it’s gorge. The shape is figure flattering, the beading is luxurious, and the back is giving just enough sexy. This is the ultimate party dress, everyone will be envious.
Kaliko, Green Jacket $48 – Make a statement in the color of 2013, emerald. A bolero is the perfect match for the loose 20’s inspired dress. I love a bolero paired with a non-form fitting dress. This one doesn’t have a collar, which really shows off the intricate beading on the dress. It also allows you to showcase jewelry when wearing with different looks.
Charlotte Russe, Platform Heels $15 – If I had a color crush on emerald, I think I’m in love with grayed jade. Grayed jade is this season’s version of mint. These pumps are totes marv, the shade allows them to werq now and later.
Urban Expressions, Cross Body Handbag $30 – Sheer eleganza. A dainty chain strap is always an excellent choice for a nighttime event, it adds a touch of dressy. This bag is the best size for an evening gala. The tassels are magnifique.
Modcloth, Bracelet $25 – It’s easy to blend softer spring colors by using accessories. The emerald green makes this look appropriate for winter, however the grayed jade in the pumps, earrings, and bracelet make the whole package stylish. When it gets warmer, you can just toss the bolero aside.
American Apparel, Earrings $15 – What a stud.
Takin’ Care of Business:
Zalando, Jersey Dress $40 – This color is fabulous… daytime Cinderella. The style of the dress is perfect for the office. You can wear it with a blazer or cardi when it’s chilly, and frock it alone with a bold statement necklace when it’s warm. This dress has the ability to be mixed and matched with a bajillion different things.
Romwe, Orange Blazer $48 – J’adore a bold blazer. Take some sass to werq with a tailored nectarine piece. A blazer can make virtually anything appropriate… and they don’t have to be boring.
Amelle, Platform Bootie Platform Bootie- $40 – Like a nude heel, a nude bootie elongates your legs. A bootie adds style to your typical office wear.
H&M, Leather Shoulder Bag $40 – You can fit anything that you need for werq into this bag. The darker blue keeps this look from being too Easter. By using darker accessories, you can show people that yes, you have amazing taste… but you still mean business.
Fantasy Jewelry Box, Navy Blue Jewelry $50 – Bring it all together with a darker neutral. I happen to dig the way that statement jewelry looks. It brings the drama.
Vanzetti, Leather Waist Belt $42 – Everything looks better cinched at the waist. Even if the waist is already cinched, a belt adds definition. Plus, this one goes well with the nude booties.
You’re Hot And You’re Bold:
Stand the frock out in complementary brights… It’s the best way to bring cheer to a dull or rainy day.
Romwe, V-Neck Pullover Sweater $40 – A thin loose sweater is essential when you’re transitioning from Winter to Spring. I’m totes into classic silhouettes in bold hues. This sweater werqs during Winter because it is warm, and it werqs during Spring because it’s thin… and a serious splash of color.
Fashion Union, Skinny Jeans $9.61 – Colored denim is brilliant. During fall you can frock burgundy and cobalt, and when the temps rise you can switch to neons and pastels. This violet is soft enough to mix with brights, yet lively enough to wear with neutrals.
Zara, Cowboy Boots $50 – Booties bring the edge. They’re a great way to get the look of boots during Spring. You can wear nude with anything, and it always looks fierce.
Target, Cross Body Handbag $20 – Go big or go home. These are all complimentary colors, that’s why they werq together. A cross body bag is ideal on a casual day.
Forever 21, Stretch Rhinestone Bracelet $5.80 – Nude accessories help tone everything down.
Jucca, Beanie Hat $42 – I love a beanie with soft wavy hair. It’s also a fab way to cover your hair when you’re running late (and you turned it white with dry shampoo).
Vila, Scarf $26 – Scarves are cozy and decorative. Since this one is a bit larger, it helps break up the green. The color is neutral, which means you can wear this scarf all year long.
Trend It Like Beckham:
Don’t follow the trends… set them by mixing bold colors and graphic prints
SheInside, Beaded Top $32 – All of this seasons must have’s are right here on this top…. black + white, graphic prints, and a statement collar. Although this shirt is pretty memorable, you can still get a lot of wear out of it. It would look sickening with almost any skirt or pantalones.
Target, Trench Coat $25 – This trench is beautimous. Lemon zest is everywhere right now… it tastes good in water, and it looks good on you.
Covington Gardens, High Waisted Skirt $40 – What could be better than emerald leather? Nothing really.
Michael Antonio, High Heel Shoes $50 – Black and yellow can come across as bumble bee, but you can keep it fashion forward by wearing it with emerald. The emerald steals the show, making the black and yellow small accents.
Sammy Dress, Zippered Tote Bag $15.22 – You know I get down with a structured tote. The shade of this bag gives off a luxe vibe… go ahead and throw that shade hunty.
Spring forward this winter in next season’s hottest hues. And if Dance Moms is your guilty pleasure too, and you wanna chat during… holler at me @RockinAroundThe
